FAQ
Questions we hear often
These answers cover what clients ask before they send an enquiry. If yours is not here, the contact page is the quickest way to put it to us directly.
- Do you only work with large broadcasters?
- No. We work with broadcasters, independent production companies and content teams of different sizes. What matters is that you run live or near-live programmes and want them to be more dependable. We scale the scope to the studio and the crew you actually have.
- Can we book just one service rather than the whole set?
- Yes. Each of the five services stands alone, and many clients begin with a single one, such as a lighting plot or a workflow review. If the first piece of work shows that another area needs attention, we will say so and you decide.
- Do you visit our studio before giving a proposal?
- For most services we need to see the space, because acoustics, lighting and cabling all depend on the room. Where a visit is needed, we say so in the proposal and agree it with you. Simple questions can often be settled by phone or email.
- What should we prepare before the first conversation?
- Useful items are a floor plan, a list of existing equipment, your usual running order and a description of what has gone wrong. None of it needs to be tidy. We would rather see real documents as they are than polished summaries.
- Will you work around our broadcast schedule?
- Yes. We plan site work around transmission days and rehearsals so that your programmes are not disturbed. Tell us your calendar early, and we will say honestly whether the work fits or needs to wait until a quieter period.
- What do we receive at the end of a job?
- You receive written documentation suited to the service: drawings and source lists for integration, measurement reports for acoustics, lighting plots for light and a written review for workflow. We also talk your team through it so it is understood.
- Do you train our crew as part of the work?
- Where it helps, yes. Tom trains crews on the day for lighting and camera work, and Daniel walks engineers through a build at handover. Training is described in the proposal, so you know in advance what is included.
- How is the work priced and paid for?
- Prices depend on scope, and the Prices page shows guide figures. After an enquiry you receive a written quotation, and once it is confirmed we invoice, payable by bank transfer. Cancellations and refunds follow the payment and refund policy.
